What you need when you have a Migraine

What you need when you have a Migraine

Tuesday morning, during Weekly Biz, a migraine hit me hard!

Sharp pain behind my right eye, dull throbbing down my neck.

Just smile, get through it, you'll be fine,” I kept telling myself. Thankfully, everyone understood when I dashed out right after the meeting. I'm usually the last to leave! Headed straight home to deal with it.

Here's what usually works for me:

Blackout blind

We got a blackout blind recently, and I love it. It’s more practical than curtains for blocking light, even if it's less pretty.

Tiger balm

I rub it on my temples for a minute.

Head Ease by Homemade at the Elms

Sara’s blends are magic! Head Ease is a must-have, and this time I used it on my neck.

side note- this pillow spray is amazing!

Eye mask by me

Even alone, I wear my “Wake me if you dare” eye mask to shut out any stray light.

Medicine

Paracetamol and ibuprofen (always consult your doctor) usually work for me, but I’ve tried all sorts. I already take enough meds to sound like a maraca, so these two are my go-tos.

My migraine routine

Once home, I took both tablets with water, applied the balm and Head Ease, closed the blinds, donned my eye mask, and crashed for 2 hours. It doesn't always work, but this time it did. If not, I resort to cold cloths with ice, but I caught it in time. Phew!

The Aftermath

After a migraine, whether short or days long, I’m exhausted! Sleep or no sleep, it's tiring. Maybe it's just me, but I’d love to hear how you cope and feel afterwards.
